Chocolate at it’s best

Chocolate is unparalleled in it’s nutritional landscape. It has more that 1200 chemical constituents, which makes it one of the most complex and beneficial food sources on the market. There are few foods which can compete with the nutritional profile of cocoa.

Chocolate is extremely high in life preserving antioxidants. It’s levels far exceed that of green tea and red wine, by as much as 20 to 30 times higher according to the ORAC(oxygen radical absorption capacity) score. It is an organic source of mood elevators and brain stimulators: theobromine, dopamine, tryptophan, anandamide, serotonin, and phenethylamine. All of these elements mount up to an increase in energy and an up- lifted, sometimes even euphoric mood. Chocolate has also been observed as a fast appetite suppressant. If eaten in little, yet concentrated amounts, 20 to 30 minutes prior to meal, it is noted that many people report feeling less hungry and eating less amounts.

Dark, raw chocolate cocoa powder, when combined and blended with other “living” foods, such as walnuts and almonds, flax seeds and hemp seeds, nutritional yeast, agave nectar, dates and vanilla, can provide a fantastic energy and mood booster in the form of a delicious and very nutritious treat.
